![]() ![]() Multiplayer and/or co-op are features that have long been requested by players for My Time at Portia, but the game was designed with singleplayer in mind, as Pathea did not yet have experience with making a game with My Time at Portia's concept and did not want to risk "throw too many unknowns into the mix." Prior to Loah's confirmation of possible multiplayer gameplay in the My Time at Sandrock game, there were various accounts of developer comments about the consideration of adding multiplayer to the unconfirmed Sandrock DLC. ![]() We still have some things to work out, and are always listening to the community's suggestions and feedback :) It'll likely be a bit different than MTAP, but should maintain the same atmospheric and gameplay feel. For Sandrock, we are designing it with a multiplayer feature in mind. (It'll actually be a different game, but is of the MTAP world). On December 3, 2019, new information was unveiled:Īs many have heard, we have planned an extension to My Time at Portia, called Sandrock. It was not specified if the new game would be limited to Sandrock, if any characters might return, or if any content from a My Time at Portia player's save files might be included in the new game. In October 2019, the purported Sandrock DLC was confirmed to not be a DLC at all, but rather a new game. No official news about it was announced, however, and few details were given. Despite the Kickstarter goal not being reached, a multiplayer Sandrock DLC had been mentioned since early 2018 in various developer comments on Steam. You can help expand it.Ī Sandrock DLC for My Time at Portia was one of My Time at Portia's Kickstarter's goals in 2017, though it was not reached. Additionally, My Time in Duvos was teased, though only as an April Fools' joke. One such possible game is My Time with Peach. Though not explicitly confirmed, it is possible that My Time at Sandrock may not be the only new game related to Portia in the future, as Pathea Games is open to the idea of expanding the universe and exploring its lore. The Kickstarter launched on October 26, 2020, 6am EST, was live until Novem7am EST, and can be viewed here. The game will be set in the desert city of Sandrock, another member of the Alliance of Free Cities and an active trade partner with the city of Portia. It was initially considered as downloadable content (DLC) for My Time at Portia, but was later decided to be a new, separate game and sets out to improve on My Time at Portia and includes many quality of life improvements. My Time at Sandrock is a confirmed continuation of the My Time at Portia universe. Make it a toggle and be done with it.WeGame ↪ Main article on MTaS Wiki: My Time at Sandrock ![]() If you're adamant that it stays in for some reason, it absolutely needs to be optional. Take a look at this feature one more time, devs. I don't really want my character looking more and more like a meth-head every day. The eye bags need to be optional.Īlso, after playing a bit longer, the eye bags make the characters look like drug addicts, especially at some angles and in certain lighting. It would be different if Sandrock were to be some hyper-realistic, real world type game, but neither Portia, nor Sandrock as you are billing it, are meant to be that type of game. I don't want it in the games I use to relax and de-stress. My life and my job are stressful enough-I have bags and stress and all the visible signs of overworked/underpaid working-poor every single day of my life. I get some people really, really want a lot of realism in this type of game, but there are many of us who use this as an escape. That's more a penalty on the player, having to look at it, than a penalty on the character, like stamina drain is. Just pass out on the second night in a row at whatever hour being up.īut if nothing else, no eye bags. IRL most people don't pass out from pulling a single all nighter but certainly do have less energy from it. A choice might be an option though, you can pass out now and wake up at home with however much stamina, or choose to stay up and accept the penalties of lost stamina and faster draining stamina. I know some use pass out as an emergency way to get home when stuck rather than loose the whole day's progress, though that doesn't seem to be intended game design. There could easily be other penalties like no stamina regen if you don't sleep/sleep to late, maybe makes your stamina drain faster the next day as well. When I'm out running around late, I'll sometimes see NPCs, so kinda sucks I as a player have to pass out when they get to stay up. I don't really like the passing out mechanic either but am used to it in games so accept it. I don't want to look at that on my character. ![]()
